Sagishima is the Japanese island closest to a Shinkansen station (Mihara), therefore it is very convenient, but still absolutely rural. Enjoy the great vistas of the Seto inland sea when running, and the friendliness of the inhabitants!

Sagishima is also just 30 minutes by ferry from Onomichi, the gateway to the Shimanami Bridge, a mecca for cyclists. Onomichi is a hilly port city in southwest Honshu, Japan. It’s known for the Temple Walk, a network of paths connecting 25 temples. In the east, Jōdo-ji Temple has painted screens and the ornate Taho-to Pagoda. A cable car runs to a park atop of Mt. Senkōji, where there are views of spring cherry blossoms from iconic Senkō-ji Temple. Onomichi City Museum of Art has a collection of paintings by international artists.
You can stay in Onomichi or Mihara and get on an early boat to run the race. If you want to stay on the island, please contact the organiser for details.
Time limit: 4 hours (32.5 km/Relay), 80 minutes (11 km)
Capacity: 500 people
Water supply: Every 3.5 km (additional water prepared in case of high temperature)
