FAQs

1. I understand the 1KM blindfold walk involves two persons in a team. I have not participated in the blindfold walk, what is the protocol?

As this walk involves two persons, a blindfold will be given to each team. On day of event, one person will be blindfolded while the other member of the team who is sighted will assist him or her during the walk. At half way mark, the role will be switched for the return leg.

2. I can’t run but I am keen to participate. Can I walk?

Of course, you can walk. 5KM is a fun run category and even the competitive 10KM category, walking is still allowed for two distances. The key is to have fun and enjoy the activities.

3. Is 5KM fun run a timed race?

No, there is no timing for 5KM which is a fun run category. Race bib without timing chip is still issued. However, race bib with timing chip for 10KM will be issued, which is a competitive race as there are awards for podium finishers. Those who participate in virtual category only need to submit their results taken from their own GPS device to the link provided by us.

4. Must I complete before I get a race medal?

Yes, participate in our physical event be it 1KM blindfold walk, 5KM or 10KM run and upon crossing the finish line, a race medal will be presented. Only those who participate in our virtual run will get theirs via courier service.

5. Is there a minimum sign up age?

The minimum sign up age for 1KM blindfold walk and 5KM fun run is 8-year-old. Kids of this age must be accompanied by an adult who must be aged 18 and above. For 10KM competitive run and Team Challenge, only those who are aged 14-year-old and above are allowed.

6. If I have signed up in 10KM team category, can my completion time entitle me to 10KM individual race prize if I am among podium winners?

No, if you have signed up in the team challenge of 8, it means the completion time of all the runners will be classified under team. The fastest 6 runners in team will be determine the team overall timing. 10KM Competitive Run category refers to those who have signed up as an individual runner only.

7. How does Team Challenge category work?

This being our 8th edition, we have introduced this Team Challenge category comprising 8 in the team. This is a competitive race under team category and the results of 6 fastest runners out of 8 in the team will be added to the total completion times to determine the final team placing. Team can comprise of all-male, all-female or mixed. Individual runners and team runners will flag-off together.

8. How do I get my race entitlement?

While COVID control measures are largely minimised and for the safety of everyone, we will still adopt mailing out of race entitlements to participants. Those who have signed up for the physical race will receive theirs before the race day whereas those who have signed up for the virtual race will receive theirs at least 2 weeks after the race day.
