Event Info

General Information

PUB Games 2020 consists of two runs (team and individual) and two walks (trails and steps challenge (completed in April 2020)). All the three outstanding categories will be carried out in virtual format.

The virtual runs and walk will be carried out from 6 Nov 2020 to 31 Jan 2021 and are open to all PUB officers.

Participants may use any fitness tracking app to track the route, distance and duration for the runs and walk. Examples of fitness tracking app includes Endonomo, Strava, Nike Run Club, Adidas Running, Runkeeper, Pacer Pedometer, Garmin, Fitbit etc.

Rules & Regulations

1)  21km Half Marathon Ekiden (Team)

  • For the active individuals who would like to rekindle the interest for running.
  • Each team consists of 5 runners from the same department (as of 1 Nov 2020).
  • To complete a cumulative distance of 21km within the 3-month period (6 Nov 2020 to 31 Jan 2021).
  • No restriction to the distance run by each runner as long as the mileage covered by all runners sum up to 21km.
  • Each runner to run remotely, track the run and submit a screenshot of their best run using the stipulated app. The screenshot must show the date of run, route, distance covered and duration of the run.
  • Three fastest teams will be determined based on the cumulative time taken by the team of five to complete 21km.
  • Each participating team contributes 5 points to the inter-department challenge. The Departments represented by the three fastest teams will receive additional points (9, 6, 3 points).

2) 15km Run (Individual)

  • For the seasoned runners.
  • Each runner represents the department that they are in (as of 1 Nov 2020).
  • To complete a distance of 15km (either in whole or in parts) within a 15-day period (1 to 15 Dec 2020).
  • Each runner can take up to five runs to complete 15km.
  • Each runner to run remotely, track the run and submit up to five screenshots of their best run(s) that add up to 15km distance using the stipulated app. The screenshots must show the date of run, route, distance covered and duration of the run.
  • Three fastest male and three fastest female runners will be determined based on their time taken to complete 15km (either in whole or in parts).
  • Each participating runner contributes 2 points to the inter-department challenge. The Departments represented by the three fastest males and three fastest females will receive additional points (9, 6, 3 points).

 3)  Trail Walk Challenge (Individual)

  • For the less active individuals as the time taken to complete the trails is a non-factor.
  • Each walker represents the department that they are in (as of 1 Nov 2020).
  • To complete eight different trails within the 3-month period (6 Nov to 31 Jan 2021). Each trail should be minimally 3km each.
  • The trails should be selected from NParks Park Connector Network, Parks or Nature Reserves https://www.nparks.gov.sg/gardens-parks-and-nature/park-connector-network .
  • Each walker to walk remotely, track the walk and submit screenshots of up to eight completed trails using the stipulated app. The screenshot must show the date of walk, route, distance covered and duration of the walk.
  • Each participant contributes 2 points to the inter-department challenge. The Departments with the top three highest number of participants will receive additional points (9, 6, 3 points).

Scoring System

Each participating team of the 21km Team Relay Run contributes 5 points to the inter-department challenge. The Departments represented by the three fastest teams will receive additional points (9, 6, 3 points).

Each participating runner on the 15km Individual Run contributes 2 points to the inter-department challenge. The Departments represented by the three fastest males and three fastest females will receive additional points (9, 6, 3 points).

Each participant contributes 2 points to the inter-department challenge. The Departments with the top three highest number of participants will receive additional points (9, 6, 3 points).

Each participant of the virtual runs will be an advantage of shaving 5% or 10% of their submitted time for each criterion that they are fall under. The criteria are listed below. This advantage will be cumulative i.e. if a participant fulfils more than one criterion, we will adopt a “multiplier effect”.

Entitlements



All individuals who complete at least one category will receive a voucher.


For the runs, the top three teams/ individuals will get customised finishing tee shirt.

 

Upload

You can complete your session indoors or outdoors by either

1) Using any of your preferred GPS-tracking or Health app, such as Endomondo, Strava, Runkeeper, Garmin Connect, Nike Run Club, Adidas Running, Pacer Pedometer, Fitbit etc; or
2) Using an indoor treadmill

Terms & Conditions

  1. Participants take part in this event at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety when choosing their run route. As a participant, you are encouraged to wear high visibility clothes when running in dim lighting conditions for safety reasons. PUB Recreation Club and JustRunLah (service provider) accept no responsibility for any accident, incident of any nature or injury sustained whilst taking part in the virtual event. PUB Recreation Club excludes any liability for personal injury or death that may arise due to your participation in this event.

 

  1. This event is opened to PUB employed staff only.

 

  1. By participating in this virtual challenge, you are accepting that JustRunLah! will contact you to confirm your entry and keep you updated on the progress of your participation.

 

  1. After completing your daily run/walk, take a screenshot of the run/walk statistics (via a tracking app) and upload it onto the JustRunLah! online portal. If your upload cannot be validated, your challenge will be deemed as incomplete. You will not be entitled to the finisher entitlement. In such circumstances, you will need to re-run and upload a new record (within the event period). If you experience any difficulty in uploading your run/walk details, please contact JustRunLah! at support@justrunlah.com.

 

  1. Uploading of run/walk records will be from 6th November 2020 to 31st January 2021. If you are unable to complete your run/walk and upload by the dateline, please write to support@justrunlah.com for assistance.

 

  1. Finisher entitlement will be awarded to all participants who complete their respective category during the event period.

 

  1. The organizer has the rights to use the uploaded photos for publicity or sharing in social media.

 

FAQs

Registration

1. How do I register?
Click on “Registeration” tab and follow the registration process. An email will be sent to you when your registration is successful.

2. Is the registration free?
Registration for the Virtual Race is free for all PUB staffs.

3. When is the registration period?
Registration is open from the 6th November 2020 to the 31st January 2021. Please ensure that you register during this period only.

4. Who can I contact if I have issues with my registration or other event related information?

Submission of results

5. When can I start to submit my Run results?
Event period for 21km Team Relay Run and Trail Walk Challenge (Individual) is from 6 November 2020 to 31 January 2021. Event period for 15km Individual Run is 1 to 15 December 2020. Submissions can only be submitted during this stipulated timeframe for each category.

Run submissions received before or after these dates will not be accounted for.

6. What Apps should I use to capture my steps record or run session? Can I use a treadmill?
There are numerous GPS Running trackers such as:
• MapmyRun
• Strava
• Running
• Adidas Running
• Nike Running

For those that are using treadmills, please take a photo of your distance covered from the dashboard with a reference to the date of the activity. (eg. a watch)

7. How do I submit my Run or Step record?
Step 1:
Use the recommended GPS Running Tracker Apps or Treadmill or personal step tracker to record your Run or Walk within the stipulated event period.

Step 2:
Take a screenshot of your finished activity, making sure that the date, distance, time and duration of run are clearly visible. If you are using a treadmill, please take a photo of the dashboard with the distance and time, and a reference to the date, ie. From a watch or another phone.

Step 3:
Upload your screenshot or photo via the link of your confirmation email or the ‘Upload’ tab.

Please have your registration ID available and fill in the details accordingly.

For ease of uploading, please access via the link from your confirmation email.

Step 4:
Once submitted, you will receive a notification email. You can then repeat step 1 again for your next run and submission.

*Do note that any irrelevant or inaccurate submissions will be removed at the discretion of the organizers.

8. Is there a limit to how many results I am allowed to submit?
Yes, there is a limit to how many results you can submit.

9. How will I know if my submission is received?
An email notification will be sent to you after each submission of your run. We will notify you, if any of the submission is invalid or unclear and will require a new submission.

Finisher entitlements

10. When will I receive my voucher?
Vouchers will be distributed in February 2021.

11. What if for whatever reason I am unable to complete my minimum distance, do I still get my finisher entitlement?
No, please note that only participants that complete the event will be provided with their voucher.
