Our Campaign Story
#RunItForward2020 is a virtual run in support of President’s Challenge, proudly organised by members from Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University. In commemorating the 10th anniversary of the School since its establishment in 2010, the School aims to help the disadvantaged communities in Singapore. This is especially important as the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about unprecedented challenges, both for people and society. At the same time, the School also wants to highlight the importance of mental and physical wellbeing through active participation in various types of activities.
If you are looking to help, you can do so by donating generously via SG Giving. You can also support our initiative by registering for this virtual run event! Just perform one of the qualifying activities, clock your distance and upload your activity data from 1 October 2020 to 31 October 2020.
Thank you to everyone who has been in touch to help us with this cause!
About The Charity
President’s Challenge aims to help disadvantaged groups change their circumstances and bring about more sustained changes to the lives of those we impact. The President’s Challenge Empowering for Life Fund will fund programmes to help the less fortunate, in the areas of skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
It will focus on supporting customised, dedicated services to the most vulnerable groups, and facilitate their integration into society. The programmes that it funds will handhold the most disadvantaged families to bounce back quickly from setbacks and stay adaptable.
Donations to the Empowering for Life Fund via SG Giving are tax-deductible and attract dollar-for-dollar matching from the Singapore Government.

What is a Virtual Challenge?
A virtual challenge is a race that you can complete at your own pace and time.Virtual challenge works exactly the same as any other type of sports events (e.g. running or cycling) but the difference is that the entered race can be completed at any location, either outdoors or indoors on a machine.
All you have to do is register for a race and provide evidence that you have done it. The evidence can be a screenshot of your running/fitness app, a photo of the machine screen etc. Do check out specific instructions of the event you join for more information.
Virtual races are a great way to stay fit and active all year round, run for good causes and get awesome medals and other entitlements for your participation!
